ICs for Planar Radar Array and Technology Trends
By Dr. Nitin Jain, CTO, Anokiwave, Inc.
Abstract:-
Today automotive Radar at 24GHzz and 77GHz have been successfully industrialized. These mm-wave Radar utilizehighly integrated system-on-chip (SoC) using all-silicon processes. Furtheradvancement inboth Integrated Circuit (IC) technology and innovative system architecture has resulted in planarizedactive antennas. As a result, X-Band weather Radaris produced usinga unique combination of a silicon core IC and GaAs Transmit Receive ICwith state-of-the-artperformance; and yet, the X-band Radaris planar, lightweight and low cost. This talk will describe the development mentioned above that happened over the last two decadesand provide a perspective of the present IC technologytrends, including the features and function of the mm-wave 5G IC technology that will impact Radar application and tradeoffs. |
